Gurushikhar – Anadara Point – Ambaji – Kumbharia Jain Temples – Ambaji Temple – Gabbar Hill – Ambaji Stay
As we had covered most of the places in mount abu, we decided to move forward to our next destination i.e. Ambaji, Gujarat. We stopped at Anadara point in mount abu after breakfast. The point has a great view of the valley.
After that we straight went to ambaji. The place was very crowded as it was holiday for guru nanak jayanti and also because it was a full moon day which is considered auspicious in hindu religion. Well we decided to first check in the jain dharamshala which is 2-3km away from ambaji, at a jain temple in kumbharia. We had lunch in the dharamshala’s bhojanalaya, which was quite delicious especially the gujarati dal. Then we went to see the ambaji temple. After standing in queue for about 30-40mins we finally reached inside the main temple in which a gold plated “holy shakti visa shree yantra” is decorated in such a way that it looks as an incarnation of goddess Durga. We then purchased the Prasad and came back to our room.
In the evening we visited the amba mata temple that is situated on the Gabbar hill. To reach the temple one has to use the rope way facility. We encountered lot of crowd there and it took us one and half hours to reach entry of rope way.
Finally we sat in the carriage and ascended towards Gabbar hill. It is an excellent view of gabbar hill as well as the city down from the carriage. After getting down from the rope way, there are few steps up to the temple.
Our timing was perfect, as we reached near the akhand jyoti, the aarti had just started and the divine feeling that I experienced cannot be described in words.
And cherry on top was the full moon. The sight of the city, the hill was fabulous in the bright light of the full moon. It was very mesmerizing. Then we came back and stood in the queue waiting for our turn for the ropeway. It took about 30-40mins to get a ropeway due to the rush. Once we descended from the hill, we decided to have dinner at the food court near the entrance of ropeway. After dinner we returned back to dharamshala to rest for the night.
